Part-Time Workroom Assistant

Kronhaus Custom Works, a custom soft furnishings fabrication studio based in Durham NC, is seeking a part-time workroom assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate has a passion for textiles, interest in home furnishings, and an eye for detail. As the workroom assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored and timeless products for our clients.

This is a part-time position with weekday hours. We are looking for someone who can work between 8-12 hours per week. Pay starts at $20/hr depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Check in, organize and track materials needed for custom items including but not limited to bolts of fabric, hardware, wood and small tools
  • Cut and prep fabric
  • Utilize industrial sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to fabricate custom items
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace while ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working condition
  • Keep accurate records of work performed

Requirements:

  • Basic sewing skills preferred, but training will be provided

  • Interest in textiles and home decor

  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work standing for multiple hours
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds once per shift

  • Must have personal transportation

  • Basic math and geometry skills
